iMap updates to 3.5

Biovolution has just released iMap 3.5, a major update to its award winning mapping application. This new version adds support for GPX importing, making it very easy to import data from almost any GPS receiver. Furthermore, this update adds integration with Google Earth and Apple's Spotlight technology, together with many other improvements and new features. iMap 3.5 is now a Universal application, running at native speed on Intel Macs. iMap 3.1 wins Apple Design Award

iMap 3.1 is the runner-up in the Apple Design Awards (student category). The Apple design awards recognize excellence and innovation in software design. Biovolution announces iMap 3

biovolution today announced the third version of iMap, its easy-to-use mapping application. iMap has been completely rewritten and now sports a huge list of often requested features. Some of the more than 30 new features in iMap 3 include:

  • seamless integration with databases and spreadsheets
  • the possibility to query the map against information in the database
  • a new file format that encapsulates both the map and the data
  • support for shadows and transparency
  • support for vector maps (Arc/Info .e00 files and boundary files)
  • the ability to map records based on US Zip codes
  • a new plug-in format, enabling anyone to extend iMap's functionality
  • more than 80 free maps available on the iMap website
